Ike Huy is a genre-fluid trumpet player and composer based in Berlin, working at the intersection of contemporary music, electronic soundscapes, and cinematic storytelling.
As a trumpet player, her roots lie in contemporary and experimental music. She has regulary worked with leading ensembles like Ensemble Modern and was principal trumpet of the Basel Sinfonietta for 8 years. Ike Huy has collaborated with PEACHES as a band member and contributed to works by Florentina Holzinger, Matthew Barney, Christopher Rüping and Yaël Bartana. Her solo project fuses trumpet with electronic music, performing as support for Hauschka (Volker Bertelmann).
Studying with Heiner Goebbels, Ike Huy started writing and producing music and has composed sound installations, soundwalks, concert music, and a TikTok Opera. In recent years, she has focused on film scoring and has composed music for TV productions and arthouse feature films, that have premiered at Berlinale, Filmfest München, and Filmfestival Max Ophüls Prize.
Since 2023, she has been part of the Female Producer Collective.
